CRW and ESPN Present
Saturday Night Face Off
Live from the Bronx, NY
May 20, 2012
(earlier in the day)
The back door area of the CRW Arena is shown, and there is a large crowd outside picketing the entrance. The members of the crowd are NYPD officers, and they are protesting the release of Gravedigger from custody. There is one officer who seems to be leading the charge, and he has a bullhorn.
(Officer): We won't stand for this injustice. This man.... this freak.... gets to make thousands of dollars and gets cheered by fans all over the world after assaulting one of our brothers??? WE WON'T STAND FOR IT!!!!!!
(Crowd): WE WON'T STAND FOR IT!!!!! WE WON'T STAND FOR IT!!!!!
(Officer): That's right..... we want him arrested here, on the spot, and taken back to jail....... treat him like the animal he is!!!!!!!
(Crowd): BACK TO JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BACK TO JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Officer): Anyone who supports the so-called Gravedigger is a menace and no friend of the NYPD!!!!!!!!
As the officer is talking several CRW staff members attempt to enter the building, but barely get in as the crowd attempts to stop them. As this is happening, a limo pulls up to the scene, and a large group of security staff surround the door. After a moment, Colt Richards and Gravedigger step out. The crowd attempts to get to Gravedigger, but the security team holds them back. He doesn't even pay attention to what's happening and he and Colt make their way to the door, with various objects being thrown at them from the crowd. They finally get to the door and get inside, where they are greeted with a CRW camera and Jasmine Locklear.
(Jasmine): Gentlemen, welcome. Glad to see you got in ok.
(Colt): It wasn't easy, but we made it. Time to get ready for our match.
(Jasmine): Has it been hard to focus this week with all the outside distractions?
(Colt): No. It was actually a nice change of pace. And focusing on a match has never been a problem for me. As for the big man..... he can focus in on anything he wants to. He's got that tunnel vision. Came in handy this week.
(Jasmine): So I guess I'll ask about the match..... Colt, what can we expect in your first CRW match?
(Colt): A hell of a show. I know some people in my former companies looked at me as cocky, as arrogant. But the truth is I always backed up what I say. And what I have said, and will continue to say, is that when the bell rings there is no one better between those ropes than Colt Richards. Do I win every match I'm in? No, I don't. No one does. But do I show the fans that, match after match, I am the best wrestler on the planet? Yes, I do. And I will bring that level of greatness to CRW. Training the big man has been great, but wrestling is what I am meant to do. It's all I ever wanted to do, and it is all I will ever do. I was never very good in school, or great at much of anything else. But when I step in the ring I am great. And CRW will get their first taste of that greatness tonight.
(Jasmine): Can we expect you to go after a title soon?
(Colt): Obviously my ultimate goal would be to become CRW World Champion. Winning a World Title in a third different company would be a great accomplishment. But I haven't earned a shot at the World Title. I am patient and understand the system of climbing the ladder within a company. So my immediate goal would be the TV Title. As glad as I am to see Buck Dempsey finally get a singles title, I'll be even happier to beat him for it.
(Jasmine): Gravedigger........ any thoughts to add?
(Gravedigger): A week of frustration..... anger...... hate...... violent thoughts...... they have been building. Building toward tonight. Building toward this match with the Dragon Curse. Two weeks ago they tried to attack me and failed. They better get used to failure when it comes to me. All of the emotions and thoughts that have been building within me will spill out in that ring tonight. All the hate, the anger, the violence...... William and Leon are not prepared for what I intend to bring to the table. My life outside of CRW is a mess right now. One that is making me angry, making me want to hurt people. Inside of CRW...... it's all going to spill out.
Gravedigger walks away and leaves Colt to deliver a final thought.
(Colt): I feel bad for the Dragon Curse tonight.
(Jasmine): Why?
(Colt): Well, because they have to either face the best wrestler on the planet....... or the angriest.
Colt goes down the hallway to catch up to Gravedigger as the scene fades to the live feed.

Presented in High Definition where available
The cameras pan the parking lot outside of the Under Amour arena that catches Diego de la Vega getting out of his cab. He is in tow with Maria Salazar marching directly for the entrance. Jasmine Locklear quickly rushes up to them looking for answers.
(Jasmine): Diego a quick word. Diego!
The normally accessible Diego de la Vega pushes past her and head inside the arena. Jasmine is left standing by herself but that only lasts for a short while, the camera sees Lucas Payne entering the arena in his street clothes and baseball cap. He has his gear bag strapped over his shoulder, and his manager Miss Synn is following behind him carrying his CRW Tag Team Championship title belt. Jasmine Locklear is seen standing in the area. She has a microphone in her hand, and she spots the duo and starts to follow them.
(Jasmine): Hello Lucas, any thoughts going into your tag team title defense tonight?
Lucas continues walking, appearing to be dodging the line of questions that he knows she has prepared for him.
(Lucas): Nope.
(Jasmine): Well what about this “Mr. C” character? What are your thoughts on him?
Jasmine appears to have hit a nerve, as Lucas stops walking. He slowly turns to face her with a look of frustration in his eyes.
(Lucas): Mr. C is…
All of a sudden a voice is heard coming from off camera, interrupting Lucas’ words. The camera view swings over to reveal the source of the voice, and its Agent Peterson, the FBI agent who interviewed Lucas in Nashville this past week after his car exploded.
(Agent Peterson): For all we know so far…this “Mr. C” doesn’t even exist.
Lucas growls as the man who was tossing accusations his way this week walks up with his badge presented. He brushes Jasmine aside as he walks past and stands between her and Lucas.
(Agent Peterson): Excuse me princess…but me and this man need to have a few words.
He pulls out a folded manila envelope from inside his jacket and holds it up.
(Agent Peterson): I’ve got you, you piece of garbage. It wasn’t easy…but I have proof right here that you’re dirty. I just knew something smelled fishy about that whole bombing incident in Nashville, and now that I seen what you’ve been up to, I’ve put all the pieces together. There is no “Mr. C”….this was just a ploy to throw the authorities off of your scent. Well it’s not going to work with me Payne…because I’m like a bloodhound when it comes to chasing trash like you!
Lucas quickly reaches out and snatches the envelope out of Agent Peterson’s hand.
(Lucas): Is that right? Well then…..fetch.
He tosses the envelope and it flies out of the view, and Agent Peterson’s face turns flush with anger as he walks off to retrieve it.
(Agent Peterson): This isn’t over Payne! I’ll be waiting for you with a set of handcuffs as soon as that main event is over!”
Lucas watches the agent walk off, and the view zooms in on him as heads off with a look of concern on his face, trying to imagine what was inside that envelope.
The camera cuts to ringside as “Injection” by Rise Against hits and the pyro display erupts all along the entrance way. The capacity crowd is on its feet as we cut to the CRW announce team of the beautiful Kelly Reyes and the Veteran, Eli Brooks.
(Kelly): Welcome everyone to ESPN, This is Code Red Wrestling! And tonight we bring you a special Saturday Night Edition of FACE OFF!
(Eli): Kelly this is the last show before we head to Miami for the Mayhem pay per view where CRW World Heavyweight Champion, Michael Dredge will defend the title against “The Sandman” Lucas Payne! And tonight we have the contract signing for that match, and we will learn what the stipulation for that match will be.
(Kelly): That’s true E, we’ll also have the contract signing and stipulation reveals for the other title matches as well! I’m really looking forward to that!
(Eli): Tensions have been coming to a boiling point over the past several weeks between all of these guys, whether it was Buck Dempsey’s debut in CRW to take the TV title from Buddy Zent, and their war of words to follow, or this long war between Diego de la Vega and Merlyn, who has been backed by division manager Jack Bookman.
(Kelly): Things will be interesting; to say the least, tonight so why wait any longer… it’s time for our first match of the night!
(Announcer): Ladies and gentlemen, the following is scheduled for one fall. First, coming to the ring, the appointed referee for this match will be Richardo Sanchez.
The crowd boos as Richardo comes out smiling pointing to the CRW ref logo on his shirt. He gets in the ring and raises his arms. He then hands the ref a folded document. The ref opens it and reads it
(Announcer): I have been informed by Mr. Bookman, That IF Eddie gets counted out, Does not break a hold in the allowed five seconds, or gets disqualified, He will Lose his 2012 Crucible Ticket. The crowd boos as Richardo keeps pointing at his refs badge in the center of the ring.
(Eli): Wow Bookman is really making sure Eddie can’t worm his way out of match, and I don’t understand why Ricardo doesn’t get to ref more important matches.
(Kelly): Are you kidding me?! This is shaping up to be a disaster for Eddie, and Ricardo is DIRTY, just like his nickname says!
(Announcer): First, coming to the ring, weighing in at two hundred and sixty five pounds, from Atlanta Georgia… Smokehouse Jone!
“Number 1” by Nelly blast through the arena as Smokehouse comes out from the back in a black collegiate wrestling singlet, with white knee pads and white wrestling boots. The back of his outfit says Smokehouse down the spine.
The boos pour in heavily as he comes out and is popping his pecks he gets to the ring and pulls on the top rope to test it out as he stretches and rotates his neck. The music stops, the crowd is buzzing when suddenly The pyros go off. And “Amazing” by Kanye West comes on as the crowd gets to their feet cheering.
(Eli): This is unfair..Smokehouse is not a wrestler…
(Kelly): It was Bookman who put him in this match.
(Announcer): And his opponent coming down the iels weighting in at Two Hundred and Twenty six pounds, from the Bronx, New York, Eddie Phoenix!
The crowd is on their feet as Eddie steps out from the back, he acknowledges the fans as he smacks his chest and points to the ring.
(Eli): Smokehouse does not look confident.
(Kelly): Would you, Eddie is on a mission and there is no way he’s ging to let himself get screwed out of this Crucible ticket.
(Eli): What you mean screwed, if Smokehouse wins I’m sure it will be legit.
(Kelly): Right, that is why Ricardo was specifically appointed to this match.
Eddie runs down the ramp and slides in the ring but before he could get up Smokehouse comes in on the attack.
(Eli): Hey, there you go, you have to be aggressive with Eddie and not let up
Smokehouse lifts Eddie as the ref calls for the bell and the match has begun. Smokehouse is whaling on Eddie.
(Kelly) I never realized this but smokehouse is a pretty jacked up dude..I didn’t know he was that big.
(Eli): I know the tights leave nothing to the imagination but come on Kelly kids are watching.
(Kelly):What are you talking about, I’m talking about his physique and his height.
(Eli): I bet you are, though I tend to agree I hope Mr Bookman informs Smokehouse not to wear any outfit that makes it look like he’s smuggling bananas.
(Kelly): Now who is talking about something else.
(Eli): I mean…
(Kelly): Just stop please!
Smokehouse got Eddie on the ropes and takes him to the corner. He grabs Eddie’s arm and whips him across to the opposite turnbuckles. Eddie runs in and grabs the top rope and leaps as Smokehouse follows and goes under but catches Eddie and then walks and powerslams him, he goes for the pin as the ref drops down quickly and counts!
1!
2!
But Eddie gets a shoulder up.
(Kelly): What was that…?!
(Eli): A powerslam, come on Kelly get with it...
(Kelly): Not that, that fast count!
(Eli):fast count?
(Kelly): …”SIGHS”
Smokehouse grabs Eddie by the hair and picks him up, He lifts Eddie up and goes to body slam him but Eddie maneuvers and drops down behind him and grabs Smokehouse, the fans pop as he connects with the “Kraken Breaker” (Skull Crushing Finale) and makes the pin..the ref gets down on his knee slowly and goes to make the count!
…………. 1!
………………………………2!
………..Eddie gets up and points at the ref, but the ref gets up and steps back telling Eddie not to come near him, pointing at his ref badge. Eddie looks frustrated as he turns and leans over to Smokehouse up Smokehouse gives Eddie a low blow as the ref turned his head then looks back and is acting like he did not see it.
(Kelly): oh come on!
(Eli): I agree, if the ref had saw it he should have been disqualified!
(Kelly): But he did..and…oh forget it..
Eddie is on his side holding his package as Smokehouse is still shaking off the Kraken Breaker. He gets up dizzy and leans on the top rope, and then he uses the ropes to shoot off and hit a leg drop! The crowd is starting to chant “DIR-TY SAN-CHEZ” The ref takes notice and does not seem happy. Smokehouse makes the cover the ref drops and makes the pin 1…2…KICK Smokehouse tells the ref “Come on Ricky!” he makes the cover 1..2 KICK! Smokehouse gets up and grabs Eddie by the hair and picks him up, Eddie explodes grabs Smokehouse and nails a ¾ cutter that brings Smokehouse down hard. The crowd pops as Eddie gets up and looks at the ref, He grabs Smokehouse who is hurting holding his face and locks in the the “Deadliest Catch” ( Crippler Crossface/Million Dollar Dream) Smokehouse is screaming in pain the ref decides to talk to the time keeper, Smokehouse is screaming he gives up, he can’t tap out because he has no arms available. The fans are going crazy that the ref is not looking (intentionally). Eddie breaks the hold and gets up and yells at the ref, he gets close as the ref turns he is startled by Eddie and stumbles to the ropes. He points at his Ref badge and threatens to disqualify Eddie. Eddie puts up hands and backs up. Eddie then moves out the way and avoids a sneak attack from Smokehouse who slams right into the ref knocking him out. Smokehouse is shocked and doesn’t know what just happened. Eddie grabs him and nails the “Kraken Breaker” (Skull Crushing Finale) once more the fans go crazy but the ref is down.
Eddie looks at the ref then looks at Smokehouse, Eddie looks at the turnbuckle and walks over and leaps to the top, he raises both arms in tribute to Macho Man and leaps off with the ”Tequila sunrise” (Shooting star Press) and nails Smokehouse who is definitely unconscious at this time. He grabs the ref and drags him over, and calls for some water. A fan throws him a bottle and he opens it and pours it on the ref as the ref wakes up. HE covers Smokehouse!
The ref unwilling looks on and is barely conscious as he starts the count.
………….. 1!
………………………………………2!
…………………………………………………..hesitantly, he makes the count………..3!
…..the bell rings as “Amazing” hits Eddie gets up as the crowd is going crazy. Eddie throws his arms up as flash bulbs go off. He looks down and back at the turnbuckle, he ascends the turnbuckle once more as he pays tribute again, this time the ref covers Smokehouse looking at Eddie telling Eddie not to jump. The crowd is cheering. Eddie looks down. And takes off and nails both the ref and Smokehosue with the shooting star press. Eddie holds his mid section as both men are laid out. “All about the benjamins” as everyone starts booing, Bookman comes out visibly irate, he has a mic….Eddie grabs a mic of his own and cuts Bookman off
(Eddie): Bookman, When your cronies wake up, take comfort in knowing, though I would have preferred you be under my Tequila sunrise, I am done with you, because as of this moment all my contract and negotiations have been transferred up the ladder to the Boss’ discretion! So you no longer have to concern yourself with me… consider us even.
The fans go wild as Bookman sneers and storms off the stage and “Amazing” begins to play again as Eddie heads back to the top rope to celebrate with the fans.
(Kelly): WOW! What an announcement by Eddie Phoenix, taking his career back into his own hands, by getting his contract transferred to Talon Wilkinson’s office and out of Bookman’s grubby paws.
(Eli): They’re not grubby! They are the hands of a genius!
(Kelly): Oh God Eli… Really?
