Code Red Wrestling LLC was founded in 2010 by multi-time World Champion and global wrestling superstar Talon Wilkinson.
The company is headquartered in New York City, New York and runs bi-weekly wrestling events out of the formerly named "Under Armour" Arena in Bronx, NY.
With Talon Wilkinson's fortune invested firmly into CRW, Under Armour apparel and ESPN Sports invested as major sponsoring partners giving Code Red an immediate legitimacy other companies struggled to obtain at the time. CRW absorbed several defunct companies rosters, and began to scout the globe for talent. By the end of the company's first year Code Red was considered one of the top wrestling promotions in the world, and had become a member of the "The Experts" a round table of top end federations working together to improve professional wrestling and hosting inter-promotional and inter-federation matches, tournaments, and events. Along with Action Packed Wrestling, Sin City Wrestling, Phoenix Wrestling, Viking Wrestling Federation, and TFWF, CRW and The Experts featured some of the top names in the industry.
Being a member of The Experts helped CRW land some of the top names in free agency heading into it's second season. Brandon Garcia, Rex Evans, Jun Mazuki, Terry Marvin, Tobias Burden, Buck Dempsey, and many many more joined the ranks of CRW helping make the second season a massive success. From the introduction of War Games, to an even more spectacular mid-season finale in the CRUCIBLE, and concluding with a series of PPVs Vendetta, Mayhem, and ultimately Code REDemption II, CRW's second season ended with a bang as fan favorite turned sinister villain Diego de la Vega defeating his mutli-year rival Eddie Phoenix in the main event to retain the CRW World Heavyweight Championship.
CRW's plans going into season 3 were for a brand extension, and a full touring schedule for all live shows, reserving The Under Armour Arena for certain Face Off episodes and select PPV events, however the company was forced to close its doors unexpectedly a few weeks into the season. One rumor says that the company's "BEE CAGE" match lead to law suits over allergies with fans, while others claim ESPN began to feel pressure for the mature content on the program and decided to pull their time slot and cancel Face Off's TV run putting the company in peril, however only Talon Wilkinson truly knows the answer.
Now after a three year hiatus, CRW is back with a different feel. Although still wealthy enough to fund a re-launch the size of the company's initial debut, Mr. Wilkinson has elected to put the success of the business in the hands of a man named "Rory" while it is still unknown as to why, the presumptive General Manager has been tasked with working with the situation he has walked into. A company working out of stadium that is actively being restored and renovated. A fan base that has had years to find new entertainment venues, and a roster filled with new and fresh faces, many either making their professional debuts, or having only recently become professionals from the ranks of amateur, or independent backgrounds.
Face Off will air via live-stream on CodeRedWrestling.com (fic) while the company's Super Card events have yet to announce if they will be on Pay per View, or available online-only.
Can Code Red Wrestling become the wrestling juggernaut it once was? We will soon find out.
