4) Grand Theft Auto 5
3) Chrono Trigger

I have far too many games that... I haven't played, but I've been on a Zelda kick recently in the hype leading up to Breath of the Wild and I haven't really played anything else. Though, of all time... wow, even that's quite fluid and probably full to the brim with RPGs.
10) Conker's Bad Fur Day (original N64 edition)
9) Chrono Cross
8) Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
7) Star Trek: Armada
6) Suikoden
5) Lufia & the Fortress of Doom
4) Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
3) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2) Suikoden II
1) Final Fantasy IV

Neither of your lists features Golden Eye... therefor each of your lists are incorrect. I'm tired, but I'll do a serious post in the morning.

Full list incoming. But I challenge your idea that Goldeneye is the best. Because then Perfect Dark came out.

A Great game is timeless, have any of you guys PLAYED Goldeneye recently? It hasn't aged well... :/ This is the same reason I double take when people talk about how Final Fantasy 7 is one of the greatest games ever made. That is something that did NOT stand the test of time ...and not just because of graphics. The translation is awful, but even if localization was better, you still have an excitingly convoluted story. Then there is stuff that is very 90's stereotyped stuff. It was a very enjoyable game in the late 90's that was SOLD as this Hollywood blockbuster in video game form ...and that marketing got a whole generation into JRPG's. Its legacy (and Sephiroth/Cloud fan community) is bigger than the game itself. Like Goldeneye, I think this is the case for many PSone/ N64 games. Like the 16 bit era, it was a transitional period ...which led to a more nuanced generation of games. It is cool if you enjoy these games still, I personally find most games released between 1995 to 2002 incredibly tough to play.

It is cool if you enjoy these games still, I personally find most games released between 1995 to 2002 incredibly tough to play. My collection in the ps1/ps2 era is immense and varied so I can say without a doubt that there are plenty of games that have stood the test of time for that console, but flaws in even great games we remember from our childhood become bigger and more pronounced as the technology improves. FF7 has horrible localization issues, yet FF9 is still probably my favorite FF game in the whole series. Xenogears - DESPITE it's budget constraints - still stands as amazing execution of a story and characterization DESPITE it's now laughable tropes. LUNAR: SSSC and EBC are amazing throwbacks that deserve to be placed somewhere special on gamer's collective id because it STILL matters, it's STILL great. Meanwhile games like GoldenEye, or Conker, or Gran Turismo? They've become more an more flawed due to how the times have evolved gamers. Pixels can age well, horribly blocky 3D models have not, we've become used to TWO thumbsticks for seamlessness in navigating a 3D environment - particularly in FPS' - then falling back to that abominable N64 controller becomes fucking impossible, no matter HOW much you remember loving Turok.

Pixels can age well, horribly blocky 3D models have not I can agree with that, as I love the 16-bit sprite era of graphics for games like Final Fantasy, however (and there's always a however in life) it also depends on the TV you're playing on. Pixels look horrible on an HDTV whereas PS2 #D models fare much better. I'm sure I could have the games appear just fine on my computer monitor but... reasons. As far as Goldeneye, I have never been a fan of first person shooters so it was never my cup of tea, so whether it has or hasn't aged well wouldn't really sway my opinion of it. Of course, considering my introduction to gaming was the Intellivision, when I hear people criticising how graphics have aged in early 3D games, I think back to the graphics where a single pixel was the size of one of the formatting buttons and the overall abstract designs. But beauty really is in the eye of the beholder as some people may say a game looks like trash and I could find it just as beautiful as the day it was released. For me, it doesn't matter if gaming technology has evolved and graphics have become slicker to the point where you could essentially be playing an interactive movie, but if I can take off the rose-tinted glasses and play an old game (I've recently played Lufia II via emulator) and not be put off because it is no longer the prettiest or have the slickest controls, that's all that really matters to me. I tried to play Donkey Kong 64 earlier this year on the Wii U virtual console, but only managed to put up with its horrible camera and controls long enough to unlock the original Donkey Kong. I doubt I would enjoy Conker as much as I did back then, but the multiplayer would still be far more fun than it had any right being these days. I just wish console games didn't operate under the PC model of rush the game to release and then fix any bugs with patches or gouge more money with DLC packs, especially when DLC data is blatantly on the disc, like the Ultimate Warrior in 2k14, where you can play as him in the WrestleMania mode and ONLY in the WrestleMania mode unless you get the DLC.
